Zuegg reports growth in 2016 and in the first four months of 2017
Zuegg posted good results in 2016 and is performing even more strongly in 2017. The group, a well-known Italian producer of jams and fruit juices with branches in Germany, France, Russia, Austria, Switzerland and the United States, reported total sales of €238.3 million last year, an improvement on the €237.5 million of 2015.
In particular, sales of fruit juice generated €77.5 million (up from €74.2 million in 2015), jam €50.1 million (from €53 m) and semi-finished products €108.8 million (from €106 m).
The group also posted a sharp increase in consolidated profit, up from €712,000 in 2015 to €6.3 million in 2016.
It is continuing to perform well in the current year. The first 4 months of 2017 saw an increase in both volumes (4.6%) and revenues (12.7%), driven in part by the declining prices of raw materials (-1.7%) compared to the first four months of 2016.
The group expects to close the year with a steady increase in turnover along with an upturn in profit margins in finished products and essentially stable margins in the segment of fruit-based semi-finished products.
