Antinori acquires Farneta estate at an auction

At an auction held at the Court of Siena, the Antinori group was awarded ownership of the Farneta estate in Sinalunga (Siena) for a selling price of €5.5 million, outbidding its competitor Frescobaldi which had offered €4.2 million.

With 100 hectares of vineyards, a nineteenth century villa, three farms and a business centre, Farneta is located a few kilometres from Siena, not far from Cortona where Antinori already owns the La Braccesca estate.

The acquisition will bring the total surface area of its vineyards in Tuscany to 1,700 hectares.
