Ardgowan Distillery to be resurrected in Scotland

The Ardgowan Distillery, a historic malt whisky producer founded in 1896 in Greenock (Scotland), is about to be restored to life through a £12 million (approximately €13.5 million) investment.

Construction of the new distillery will begin in 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2020.

When fully operational, the distillery will have an annual production of around 800,000 litres of pure alcohol (LPA) with the option to expand production to 1.6 million LPA.

The project will help support the growth of the Scottish whisky industry, which currently employs more than 40,000 people.
