Bauli begins production in India
On 1 July, Bauli will begin producing snacks and croissants at Baramati in the state of Maharashtra, India.
This will be the Verona-based multinational’s first production facility in the country, which it will manage through the subsidiary India Bakes & Sweets (revenues of 3.6 million euros). The 20,000 square metre facility involved an investment of several tens of millions of euros and will employ around 200 people.
In 2016 the Bauli group posted revenues of 447 million euros (-0.64%), an EBITDA of around 24 million euros (+34%) and net profits of 4.2 million euros (-44%).
The stability of revenues is a consequence of stagnant Italian consumption, while the upsurge in EBITDA is attributable to an improved product mix, sales force reorganisation and an improvement in industrial costs. Bauli’s net equity has consolidated at above 100 million euros.
