Cargill and Arasco start up new plant in Saudi Arabia
Middle East Food Solutions Company (MEFSCO), a joint venture between Cargill and Arasco set up in 2013, has opened a new grain milling plant in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
The line will double the company’s production capacity of glucose and starch, triple its total production volume and add high-fructose corn syrup to its product portfolio.
Following the investment, MEFSCO will be able to supply specific products for the confectionery, juice, bakery and catering sectors in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.
