Cargill opens new plant in Ecuador
Cargill has opened a new shrimp feed plant in Guayaquil, Ecuador with an annual production capacity of 165,000 tonnes of feed, equivalent to around 20% of the country’s demand.
The $65 million plant uses cutting-edge technology on two production lines, one operating under the Purina brand, the other under Aquaxcel.
The plant has created 150 direct new jobs and a further 500 related positions and has given a big boost to the local economy.
