Carrefour raises the bar in the first half year - up by 6.2%
Carrefour closed the first six months of 2017 with a turnover of 43.1 billion euro, up 6.2% over the same period in 2016.
This growth was registered in all markets, including Italy (+2.7%), partly due to the Group's most recent acquisitions, like Billa in Romania and Eroski in Spain. The food segment recorded the best results, with growth in sales of 6.3%.
Carrefour, which is also enjoying enviable success in the e-commerce channel (+30.4%), recently opened its first “3 minute express” outlet at Genoa, a restaurant located at the focus of the city's tourism and shopping flows, which offers customers everything from breakfast to shopping.
