Coca-Cola acquires Tropico fruit juice brand
Coca-Cola has finalised its agreement with French firm Alizé to acquire 100% of the business of fruit beverage brand Tropico, which in 2017 generated revenue of around $34 million.
The Atlanta-based multinational’s intention is to diversify its beverage portfolio in response to the current healthy living trend and to expand the Tropico brand into markets beyond France and Belgium where it is currently distributed.
The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions made by Coca-Cola around the world, including the recent purchase of the UK coffee chain Costa for £3.9 billion and the Australian brand Organic & Raw Trading Co.
