Coca-Cola to enter energy drink segment

As part of its business diversification strategy, Coca Cola is turning its attention to the energy drink market with two new products that are now ready for launch: Coca-Cola Energy and Coca-Cola Energy No Sugar.

The new drinks lines contain caffeine derived from natural guarana extract and aim to meet the demand of today’s increasingly health-conscious consumers.

However, Coca Cola’s planned launch may be in breach of contractual agreements with its partner Monster Beverage, the energy drinks producer which in 2015 sold it a 17% stake.
