Coesia acquires 70% stake in Comas Tobacco Machinery

One year on from the acquisition of British companies Molins and Cerulean, Coesia has signed an agreement to acquire a 70% stake in Comas Tobacco Machinery, a historic Treviso-based producer of machinery and production lines for tobacco and so-called reduced-risk products (RRPs).

Comas posted revenues of €210 million and an EBITDA of around €56 million in 2017 and has some 300 employees at its Italian facility in Silea (TV), its Brazilian branch in Santa Cruz and the Indian branch in Mumbai. It has installed around 100,000 machines worldwide and has a customer base that includes all the world’s major tobacco producers.

The transaction is expected to be closed by the end of the year.
