Coop posts consolidated 2016 revenues of 14.5 billion euros
Coop closed 2016 with a small growth in sales (+0.2%) to a revenue of €13.1 billion, along with a further €1.4 billion generated by non-food subsidiaries.
The Italian retailer controls an 18.7% market share (hypermarkets and supermarkets) and has seen its strong performance continued in the first few months of 2017 (+1.6%).
It is about to innovate its format by changing assortments, introducing five new Coop brand product lines and 200 new products this year (with a further 200 set to follow next year).
Coop is also strongly committed to antibiotic-free projects, which currently cover poultry and will soon also extend to pig meat.
