Dairy Farmers of America acquires Cumberland Dairy
The Kansas-based cooperative Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has acquired Cumberland Dairy, a processor of ultra-pasteurised dairy products.
Founded in 1933, Cumberland Dairy is based in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
It has 180 employees and serves some of the country’s top restaurants, convenience and grocery chains, and wholesale food distributors.
The acquisition represents DFA’s commitment to expanding its investments and ownership into extended shelf-life processing.
The cooperative posted revenues of US $13.5 billion in 2016. It has around 15,000 members and employs a workforce of more than 5,000 people.
