Delicpol acquired by Continental Bakeries
Polish biscuit producer Delicpol was recently acquired by Continental Bakeries, a move that will enable the Dutch bakery group to enter markets outside its current main operating area of Western Europe.
Delicpol is one of the top biscuit producers in Poland with an approximately 7% share of the domestic market. Poles consume on average 3.8 kg of biscuits and similar confectionery a year, making this a fairly small market that experts believe is likely to expand over the next few years.
