Diageo acquires German vermouth brand Belsazar
The British drinks giant Diageo has announced its acquisition of Belsazar, the German company that produces the eponymous vermouth.
The acquisition took place through the incubator programme Distill Ventures, an independent venture financed by Diageo which draws on industry expertise and professional networks to identify, invest in and promote the diffusion of emerging brands in the beverage sector.
Belsazar will join Diageo’s Reserve portfolio with plenty of opportunity for expansion across Europe.
Listed on the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange, Diageo has 143 production sites and currently sells its products in more than 180 countries worldwide.
