Dr. Schär opens third gluten-free factory in Italy
Dr. Schär, a leading producer of gluten-free food based in the South Tyrol, has opened its third Italian facility in Borgo Valsugana in the province of Trento following a total investment of more than €20 million.
The site, which extends over an area of more than 3,000 square metres and already employs 161 people, is used for the production of gluten-free bread and other foods.
The company was set up in Postal (Merano) in 1981 and now operates in 9 countries, employs a total workforce of 1,200 people and has revenues of €347 million.
