Emmi acquires blue cheese plant from Great Lakes Cheese Company

Leading Swiss cheese producer Emmi has acquired a blue cheese plant from the US-based Great Lakes Cheese Company.

The factory located in Wisconsin has a workforce of around 50 people and will contribute to Emmi’s growth in the United States, its largest foreign market where it already operates with the company Emmi Roth.

The acquired plant specialises in the production and packaging of high-quality blue cheese with a production capacity of more than 3.5 million kg/year.
