Ferrarelle acquires Amedei chocolate business

Ferrarelle has acquired a 99% stake in the historic chocolate brand Amedei, which returns to Italian ownership after several years in the hands of a Chinese investment fund.

In 2015, Octopus Europe Limited acquired a 75% shareholding in the company, while the remaining 25% continued to be held by the Tessieri family, which now owns just 1%.

The Tuscan company has an annual turnover of around €3 million, 40% of which is generated abroad.

Ferrarelle has already prepared an investment plan aimed at promoting the brand in international markets and enabling Amedei to expand in the Horeca and large-scale retail sectors.
