Ferrarelle starts up new automated plant for functional water production

Ferrarelle, one of Italy’s leading bottled water producers, has started up a new functional water preparation plant for the aseptic PET bottling line at its facility in Darfo Boario Terme (BS).

The technology supplier chosen for the project is A DUE, a company based in Collecchio (Parma) which specialises in the design and construction of automated beverage systems. 

The plant has a capacity of 18,000 bottles/hour and automatically handles all production stages for the new Linfe Vitasnella water line. It consists of an EASY.Core unit for dissolving powdered ingredients, preparing liquid ingredients and controlled transfer of concentrates and ingredients to the finished beverage preparation tanks. The line also includes an EASY.ThermA plate type aseptic pasteuriser, an EASY.ATK aseptic tank for the storage of pasteurised product and an EASY.Clean CIP unit for automatic sanitising with recovery.

Recipes for product batch preparation are performed by the new fully automated EASY.Drive SCADA system.
