Ferrero launches Italian Hazelnut Project

Ferrero Group recently launched the Italian Hazelnut Project (Progetto Nocciola Italia) through its subsidiary Ferrero Hazelnut Company with the aim of strengthening the Italian hazelnut supply chain and providing tools to support growers. The plan will involve creating 20,000 hectares of new plantations by 2025 (a 30% increase with respect to the current area) to meet the Alba-based giant’s needs of around 100,000 tons of hazelnuts a year.

Ferrero is committed to providing technologies for integrated management of plantations, advice on choosing the most suitable plant variety and locations, and technical support and training for personnel involved in the project.
