Hilton Food Group enters the seafood market

Hilton Food Group has acquired Icelandic Seachill, one of the UK’s largest seafood processing companies, for a figure of €91.4 million.

The operation will enable Hilton Food Group to diversify beyond its core business of packaged meat and enter the UK seafood processing market, a segment that has been expanding steadily for the last 20 years.

Founded in Grimsby, Lincolnshire in 1998, Seachill has revolutionised the sector over the years and has successfully developed new product ranges such as The Saucy Fish Co., one of the fastest-growing frozen fish brands in the UK. In 2016 it posted revenues of £266.3 million and operating profit of £3.4 million.
