Inalca invests in major Angolan agri-food centre

The Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group and Inalca (Cremonini Group), through its Angolan subsidiary Inalca Angola Lda, have signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of an industrial hub in Luanda for the processing, preservation and distribution of Angolan agri-food products.

The CNA (National Agri-Food Centre) project will involve a gradual investment of up to €150 million and will see Inalca work together with a group of small and medium-sized Italian technology suppliers on the development of state-of-the-art facilities for a range of segments (meat, fish, fruit and vegetables and cereals).

The key aims of the project include maintaining the cold chain to avoid wastage and destruction of agricultural produce, investing in the food processing sector and creating an efficient logistics chain covering the country’s largest cities and all distribution channels (retailers, food service, administrations, hospitals, etc).

Inalca is able to provide concrete solutions to these needs thanks to the expertise it has acquired during its many years of operation in the country, where it has been working in the field of food distribution since the 1990s. From the 2000s onwards, it has made major investments in the cold chain and in agri-food processing in Luanda and Lobito through its subsidiary Inalca Angola Lda.
