Kométa 99 continues its investments in Hungary
Kométa 99, an Italian-owned pork production and processing company operating in Hungary, plans to invest €4.2 million in the processing of by-products from its facility in Kaposvár in the south-west of the country.
Specifically, Kométa will supply 1,100 tonnes of industrial fat to the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics sectors and 2,200 tonnes of meat flour to the pet food segment.
This marks yet another investment for the Italian company following the €26 million spent over the last 10 years on a range of development and modernisation projects.
In 2016 it produced 57,000 tonnes of meat (39% of which was sold on export markets) and reported 21% sales growth to a total turnover of €116 million. (Source ITA Budapest)
