Large centre for cheese production in Russia

The Russian authorities have decided to begin construction of a large centre for the production of high-quality cheese in the Dmitrovsky district, inviting Italian companies to invest and contribute their expertise to the project. The new centre will begin production by the end of 2018.

It will consist of seven dairy farms extending over a total area of 17 hectares and will produce up to 12,000 tonnes of cheese a year.

The Moscow regional administration will allocate around €75 million to the project, mainly for industrial plant for the processing of milk produced in the country.

The aim of the operation is to develop Russia’s dairy industry and compensate for the severe effects caused by the embargo on cheese imports from the EU.
