Lindt: record-breaking turnover

Lindt, the Swiss chocolate giant, has closed 2017 with the highest turnover in its history: more than 4 bn SFR, (3.517 bn euro), up 4.8% over 2016. The company's EBIT is also up 5.8% to 595.4 mn SFR.

While USA sales fell by 1.6%, European sales grew by 6.2% (to 1.93 bn), with accelerated business in the UK, Germany, France and Italy. In emerging markets, Australia and Japan, the company registered growth of 12.4% (to 0.52 bn SFR) while the domestic market grew by a modest 0.7%.

This year, the Group is planning to invest over 30 mn SFR in its factory at Olten (CH), which processes the cocoa for all the company's production.
