Maina reports export growth

The panettone holiday cakes made by Italian company Maina continue to gain in popularity amongst foreign consumers with reported 30% year-on-year export growth in 2017.

The confectioner has exported more than 4.2 million cakes so far in the current year, corresponding to 15% of its total turnover.

Export growth is driven above all by sales in the four largest markets of UK, USA, Canada and Mexico, although the company in fact exports its products to no fewer than 40 countries worldwide.

Founded in 1964 in Turin as a small confectionery shop, the company now has a 100,000 square metre facility in Fossano (CN) which produces more than 21 million cakes each year.
