Marchesini Group finalises acquisitions of Schmucker and Creinox

Following Dumek, Vibrotech and SEA Vision, a further two large industrial businesses have become part of the Marchesini group.

The Bolognese group recently acquired a 100% stake in Schmucker, a Gorizia-based company specialising in the construction of stickpack packaging machines for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, and an 80% shareholding in Creinox (Ariano Polesine, province of Rovigo), a company that produces stainless steel containers and tanks for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries.

Schmucker, founded in 1997, has 80 employees and in 2017 posted revenues of €10.5 million, 86% of which was generated by exports.

Stickpack single-dose packaging is a fast-growing market that in recent years has diversified into a range of segments from food to pharmaceuticals thanks to its ease of use and a format that allows for 20-30% savings in packaging material compared to 4-side sealed sachets. Creinox posted revenues of €1 million in 2017.

The two acquisitions were conducted as part of the Marchesini Group’s growth strategies in step with a process of internal investment, including the opening of the new rapid prototyping department on 25 May and the start-up of the new Beauty Division.
