Marchesini Group to close the year with two new acquisitions and record revenue
The Marchesini family is continuing its expansion programme through acquisitions of leading Italian companies.
Following takeovers of Sea Vision, Schmucker and Creinox completed in the first half of the year, Marchesini has announced the acquisition of a 60% stake in CMP Phar.Ma (Vicenza), a pioneer in laser inspection systems for the pharmaceutical industry, and Proteo Engineering (Modena), a company specialising in industrial automation software.
Proteo Engineering will support Marchesini in the development of Industry 4.0 solutions such as machine learning.
The acquisition campaign has proceeded in parallel with growth in personnel and turnover.
This year the Bologna-based group is set to post revenues of more than €330 million (up 12% on 2017), 90% of which was generated by exports. It has 2,000 employees, 165 of whom were newly hired in 2018.
