McDonald’s Italia grows with investments of 300 mn euro

McDonald’s Italia has launched a real estate investment plan for a total value of 300 mn euro, with a scheduled twenty new openings every year up to 2020 and the restyling of 150 restaurants in line with the new “experience of the future” concept: larger spaces, a McCafè corner, and touch screen kiosks to facilitate and personalise the order experience while reducing long counter queues.

The plan will also benefit the workforce, planned to grow by 1000 units a year up to 2020, continuing the trend of the last 5 years, especially in the light of the development of home deliveries.

The Group has also inverted its model of catering, now giving priority to fresh high quality ingredients from local producers. 80% of raw materials, amounting to 82,000 tons of agro-food products a year, are sourced from Italian producers.

In 2017, McDonald’s Italia registered a turnover estimated at 1.2 bn euro (up 10.6% from 2016).
