Nestlé makes major acquisition in the nutritional health sector in Canada
The Swiss multinational Nestlé is continuing to extend its consumer healthcare portfolio by securing a deal to purchase Canadian dietary supplement and vitamin maker Atrium Innovations for US $2.3 billion.
A leader in the nutritional health sector, Atrium has 1400 employees and is expected to post 2017 sales of almost US $700 million.
Its major brands are the Garden of Life line of natural dietary supplements and Pure Encapsulations, a hypoallergenic supplement. In the health science segment Nestlé already offers products for treating diabetes, malnutrition and neurological disorders.
