Nestlé strikes licensing deal with Starbucks
Nestlé is looking with interest at the large US market where it aims to raise its annual growth to 5% by 2020 compared to the current level of 2.8%.
To achieve this Nestlé is not ruling out acquisitions, particularly in the coffee sector, but in the meantime it has struck a $7.15 billion licensing deal with Starbucks for exclusive rights to sell a wide range of the US chain’s products worldwide.
The Swiss giant operates in the US with the Nescafé and Nespresso coffee brands along with other products in the water, pet food and baby food sectors.
