Nestlé’s first Russian infant formula plant due to start up by 2019
Nestlé’s first infant formula production plant in Russia is due to begin operation by 2019.
Located in the city of Vologda, the new €26 million facility will strengthen the Swiss multinational’s position in the Russian infant formula market and boost its export capacity to neighbouring regions.
The project is part of Nestlé’s strategy of concentrating on high added-value food and beverage segments such as coffee, petcare, baby food and bottled water. The new production facility will use cutting-edge technologies to achieve higher quality standards while reducing environmental impact and producing zero waste.
Nestlé owns eight factories in Russia and has invested around 2 billion Swiss francs in developing local production over the last 20 years.
