Parmalat heads towards delisting
French dairy giant Lactalis has acquired a further 115 million shares in Parmalat, bringing its ownership of the Italian brand’s share capital to 95.81%.
The group has also informed the Italian stock exchange authorities of its willingness to proceed with the withdrawal of Parmalat from the Milan Stock Exchange and its intention to exercise an obligatory repurchase procedure for the shares owned by the Collecchio-based minority shareholder.
Lactalis gained control of Parmalat in 2011 through its subsidiary Sofil.
