Sacmi moves its wrapping business to Castel San Pietro
CM-Fima, Sacmi’s wrapping business unit for the confectionery industry with 60 employees and revenues of €20 million, has moved from Ozzano Emilia to a new 8,000 square metre site in Castel San Pietro, complete with workshop, administration area and services.
This choice “was determined by the area’s extensive expertise in the field of primary packaging and wrapping technologies”, explained Giovanni Campolungo, director of the new packaging & chocolate business unit.
“Sacmi’s strategy in this business area is based on an extensive investment plan in technologies and structures,” he continued.
The Castel San Pietro site will house CM-Fima’s R&D operations aimed at developing innovative solutions for the world of manufacturing 4.0, from hermetic wrapping systems to new machine-integrated electronic devices. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on 12 December in the presence of the mayor of Castel San Pietro, Fausto Tinti.
