Sanpellegrino 2017 growth driven by mineral water sales

Sanpellegrino, one of the leading Italian mineral water and soft drinks producers, posted revenues of €895 million and a production of 3.7 billion bottles in 2017. Exports accounted for 1.6 billion bottles (54% of total turnover), 4% up on 2016. Revenues grew by 7.8% and 14.8% in Europe and Latin America respectively, driven by mineral water sales under the brand names S. Pellegrino (+5.2% year on year by volume) and Acqua Panna (+7%), which are sold in more than 150 countries worldwide. In Italy, where the Group has reported revenues of €410 million, growth is driven by the Levissima brand which has seen a 7% increase in sales by volume compared to last year.

The Group has also been making significant investments. In late 2017 it announced the allocation of €30 million for refurbishment of the Levissima water bottling plant in Cepina Val di Sotto (Sondrio) with the aim of improving efficiency, environmental performance and worker comfort. In 2018 it will begin work on the construction of the flagship factory in San Pellegrino Terme in the province of Brescia.
