Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo acquires Cantina Mesa

The acquisition of a majority shareholding in Cantina Mesa by Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo (VE) was completed on 4 August.

The merger will create a newco in which the Sardinian winemaker will retain a large stake.

With 70 hectares of vineyards and an annual production of around 750,000 bottles of Vermentino, Carignano del Sulcis and Cannonau, Cantina Mesa expects to increase its 2017 revenues to € 4 million thanks to the synergy with Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, which has already prepared an investment plan for international development.
