Sant'Anna closes 2016 with 9.3% growth

Italian mineral water producer Sant’Anna reported 9.3% growth in 2016, with volume sales of more than 1.3 billion litres and revenues of €280 million.

This strong performance continued in the first quarter of 2017, which remained in line with the same period in 2015. The results bucked the overall market trend, which last year saw a fairly disappointing performance for non-alcoholic beverages (-0.7%) and very modest growth for mineral water (+0.7% in volume).

The company’s excellent results are largely due to the development of new packaging formats tailored to consumers’ lifestyles. In particular, in 2016 the Sant’Anna brand launched a small 25 cl bottle designed specifically for the needs of children when away from home and a 750 ml sports format.

Another smart pack version of the 750 ml bottle was designed for the HORECA sector, as well as a practical and exclusive glamour pack bottle (25 cl) designed to fit in handbags.
