Saputo acquires F&A Dairy Products for $85 million

Saputo, the Canadian dairy giant based in Montreal and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, is continuing with the raft of acquisitions it has made in 2017-2018.

Following the takeovers of Southeast Milk in Florida, Montchevre-Betin (USA), Murray Goulburn in Australia and Shepherd Gourmet Dairy in Ontario, Saputo is now set to acquire F&A Dairy Products, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of cheeses (mozzarella, provolone and cheddar) that are distributed in the USA and Mexico.

Valued at $85 million, the deal will be finalised by the end of the year and covers the activities of the two facilities in Las Cruces (New Mexico) and Dresses (Wisconsin) with 170 employees.

In the tax year ended 31 August 2018, F&A Dairy Products generated revenues of approximately US $163 million.
