S.Pellegrino reports growth in exports

S.Pellegrino closed 2016 with sales of 3.7 billion bottles and a turnover of 895 million euros (1.8% down on 2015), 50% of which was generated by exports.

This small decline in turnover with respect to the previous year is attributable to the sale of the Recoaro brand and the extra value generated by Expo 2015. Export performance grew by 6.9%, driven by the S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna brands which together account for 54% of total turnover. In particular, global sales of S.Pellegrino water passed the billion bottle mark with 5% growth on 2015. More specifically, S.Pellegrino grew by 5% in  Germany, 8.2% in the USA, 10.6% in France and 10.7% in the UK. In the domestic market the Group reported sales of 416.5 million euros, largely under the brand names Levissima (+4%) and Nestlé Vera (+1.3% by volume), and made major investments. In 2016 it opened the new Nestlé Vera facility in Castrocielo (FR), a project valued at 16 million euros, and announced construction of the Flagship Factory in San Pellegrino Terme (90 million euros), with work scheduled to commence in 2018.
