The biggest powdered milk plant in Asia to open in Gujarat

The Indian AmulFed Dairy Group has announced the construction of the largest powdered milk plant in Asia, in addition to the company's existing two plants.

Designed for sustainability, the new plant will be brought on line in 2018 and will have a capacity of 150 tons/day of skimmed powdered milk and 120 tons/day of powdered milk for infants. The plant will process a total of 90,000 litres of milk an hour.

The processing equipment for the new plant - which will be located at Gandhinagar in the state of Gujarat - has been commissioned from German company Gea, one of the principal suppliers for the global food processing industry.
