The Italian packaging machinery manufacturers have recorded their fourth consecutive growth year with a 2.2% increase in turnover in 2019. It is the only capital goods sector to see an upturn.

Enrico Aureli’s successor at the helm of the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers’ association for the two-year period 2020-2022 will be elected during the Annual Members’ Meeting in July. He will be succeeded by Riccardo Cavanna as chairman for the two-year period 2022-2024.

The general manager of MG2 is chairman-designate of the technical committee responsible for drafting European standards on packaging machinery safety.

The Chairman of the Italian Automatic Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association has sent a letter to all Italian and international customers.

The first edition of the forum organized by UCIMA and the FICO Foundation registered 450 participants from 20 countries, 35 international speakers and 40 accredited journalists. The second edition has been confirmed.

With the participation of leading global brands, such as Amazon, Coop, Coca-Cola, Fater (a joint venture by P&G and Angelini), and Massimo Zanetti Beverages.

Over the next twelve months, the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers’ association will once again be engaged in international promotion for the sector. The number of trade fair appointments has almost doubled.

According to the preliminary figures published by the Ucima Research Department, the sector has continued to grow during 2019 (up 1.8% on 2018), reporting positive performances both in Italy and in foreign markets.

There are already numerous registrations on the forum where industry experts will be meeting to focus attention on the development of sustainability in packaging.
