Andrea Malagoli (IMA) and Luciano Sottile (Goglio) elected new Vice Chairmen of Ucima

The Ucima Members' Meeting held on Wednesday, June 22nd, at the association’s headquarters, Villa Marchetti in Modena, elected the two Vice Chairmen who will work alongside Chairman Enrico Aureli at the head of the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers’ association.

The two nominations were submitted by the newly-elected Chairman Enrico Aureli, who chose Andrea Malagoli, Managing Director of Ima Spa and a member of the Vacchi family, and Luciano Sottile, Central Director of the machinery division of Goglio Spa, to join him at the helm of the association.

Andrea Malagoli, born in 1965, has held various positions within the Ima Group and has exceptional knowledge of its structure and internal organisation. Now Executive Director and Managing Director of IMA spa with specific powers in the field of Dairy & Food, he previously served as Director of Administration and Finance, General Manager and Managing Director of Ima Spa with specific powers in the pharmaceutical sector. A member of the Vacchi family, the majority shareholder of IMA spa, he holds positions in many of the Group’s companies.

Since 2015 he has been a member of the board of Ipack Ima Srl, a company partly owned by Ucima.

Luciano Sottile, born in 1955, began his career in 1982 working for Motta Alemagna in Milano. Five years later he joined the Ilapack Group and was appointed Chairman and Managing Director in 2003. Since October 2013 he has served as Central Manager of the machinery division of Goglio Spa.

Sottile has been representing Ucima for years and was elected to the Executive Board for the first time in 2007. Three years later he became the association’s Vice Chairman, remaining in office until December 2011. He returned to the Executive Board in June 2013.

He is a member of the board of the Italian Institute of Packaging.
