Italian packaging machinery goes to China

CS 26-13

Ucima continues to promote the industry in key international markets

From 17 to 19 July, the Chinese market welcomed Italian packaging companies to Shanghai.
Italian technology took centre stage at the 19th Propack China, one of the country’s three major trade fairs catering for the processing and packaging sectors.

Ucima, the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association, took part in the show with its own stand and organised the Italian pavilion hosting leading companies such as Arol, Carlè&Montanari, Cavanna, Goglio, L.M. and Metal Work Pneumatic.

China continues to be an extremely important market for Italian automatic packaging machinery manufacturers. Following a 22.8% fall in export turnover in 2012, it lost the top export country spot that it occupied in 2010 and 2011 but remained in third place behind the United States and France at 297.4 million euro (6.7% of total Italian exports). It maintained its third place in the rankings in the first quarter of 2013 with 58.1 million euro.
