Italian packaging industry at Propak East Africa in Kenya
Two leading businesses, Ca.Ve.Co and Ocme, will represent the Italian industry at the first edition of the Nairobi trade fair on 1 - 3 April
The Italian packaging machinery industry now turns its attention to Africa and will be participating at the Propak East Africa trade fair at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi (Kenya) on 1-3 April.
This new trade fair dedicated to packaging, processing, printing, labelling and plastic materials intends to attract packaging industry businesses that operate in the vast and vitally important macro area of East Africa.
Two important Italian companies, coordinated by UCIMA (Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association), will be participating directly at Propak East Africa: CA.VE.CO. and OCME.
Since it was founded in 1979 in Palazzolo sull'Oglio (Brescia), when heat sealed packaging began to take off, CA.VE.CO. has stood out for the durability and reliability of its machines, also specialising in the batching of products regarded as "awkward". It also enriched its product range with lines dedicated to the preparation of pizzas, focaccia bread, lasagne, cannelloni, pasta, minestrone and sauces. Later on, CA.VE.CO. acquired significant experience in the field of fresh meat in MAP and SKIN with heat sealing machines. This knowledge has also enabled it to develop packaging in the fish industry - the first company to do so in Europe - where it is a leader with top-class technical solutions.
Founded in 1954, OCME has grown quickly to become an industry leader with over 10,000 machines installed across the world. The company is headquartered in Parma, has around 600 employees across the world distributed across its 6 offices (UK, US, Mexico, France, China and South Africa), a network of around 40 representatives, a turnover of 90 million euros and is mainly active in the beverage, food, detergent, petrochemical and tissue sectors. Its range includes primary and secondary packaging machines, end of line and logistics machines. OCME also supplies complete turnkey lines, integrating its machines with third-party systems.
