Italian packaging machinery in the spotlight in Bangkok
ProPak Asia, the most important packaging technology exhibition in Southeast Asia, will be held in Bangkok from 15 to 18 June.
Italy will have a strong presence at this key event with a group of 16 companies coordinated by Ucima and the Italian Trade Commission ICE in a 400 square metre pavilion.
The following Italian companies will be taking part: Aetna Group, AMS Ferrari, Cepi, CFT, CM-OPM, LM, Megadyne, Melegari Manghi, Ocme, P.E. Labellers, Pelliconi, Pietribiasi, Sacmi, Siad Macchine Impianti, SMI Asia Services and Tecnopool.
Thailand is an important market for the Italian packaging machinery industry and plays a key role as a commercial hub for the whole of Southeast Asia.
In 2015, Italian companies exported packaging machinery worth 51.8 million euros to Thailand. Italy is the fourth largest packaging machinery exporter to Thailand with a 15.1% share of total imports.
According to the exclusive UCIMA “THE CUBE” forecasting report, the market value of packaging machinery in Thailand will grow by 6.6% by 2018. The highest-growth client sectors will be beverages at 6.6%, pharmaceuticals at 6.5% and food at 6.4%. The Italian packaging machinery manufacturers will see highest growth in the food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics sectors.
