The Italian packaging industry heads to Shanghai

CS 19/14

Seven companies are taking part in Propak China under the banners of Ucima and the Italian Trade Agency. The Shanghai event follows on from shows in Bangkok (Propak Asia) and Cairo (Afro Food & Packaging Exhibition).

Italian packaging technologies will be in the spotlight at Propak China, the largest Chinese exhibition of general packaging to be held from 16 to 18 July in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

Seven Italian companies will be exhibiting as part of the joint participation organised by Ucima and the Italian Trade Agency ICE: Aetna Group, Arol, FTP System, Ilpra, Robopac, Ca.Ve.Co and Rejves. Other Italian companies, including the Coesia Group, will be taking part with their own exhibits.

China is a very important market for Italy. In 2013 it was the third largest market for Italian technologies, accounting for 6.3% of total exports to a value of around 300 million euros.

The Italian presence at the Chinese show follows similar initiatives at Propak Asia in Bangkok (11-14 June) and Food & Packaging Exhibition in Cairo (19-21 June), where Ucima organised the participation of Italian companies with the support of the Italian Trade Agency ICE and had its own stand where visitors could find information on Italian technologies.

The next promotional event will be Propak West Africa, to be held in Nigeria from 2 to 4 September.
