The Italian packaging machinery industry goes to Mexico

Expo Pack Mexico, the leading packaging technology exhibition in Mexico, will be held in Mexico City from 17 to 20 May.

The 2015 edition of the event hosted around 100 exhibitors in a total floor space of approximately 19,000 sq.m and was attended by more than 25,000 visitors.

Italy will be represented by a Punto Italia stand organised by the Italian Trade Commission ICE in collaboration with Ucima, which will support Italian companies taking part in the show and provide information for visitors.

This year the Punto Italia stand will host 10 Italian exhibitor companies: Camozzi (BS), Goglio (VA), Ilpra (PV), Imeta (PR), Laminazione Sottile (CE), Officina Bocedi (RE), PKT (TO), Reda (VI), Rejeves (MN) and Rotomac (MI).

In 2015, Italian companies exported packaging machinery worth 120.5 million euros to Mexico. Italy is the second-largest packaging machinery exporter to Mexico with an 18.2% share of total imports.

According to the exclusive UCIMA “THE CUBE” forecasting report, the market value of packaging machinery in Mexico will grow by 5.3% by 2018. The highest-growth client sectors will be cosmetics at 6.2% and the food and chemicals sectors, both at 6.1%
